Guitar
As an instructor, my goal is to equip the student with the knowledge to read standard notation, to learn and adapt rhythms, and to understand and apply chords, scales, and arpeggios up and down the neck. Also, I want to help the students learn the music that interests them. I do this by teaching them music they enjoy.This sustains their interest while they are learning the technical aspects of playing so that lessons are not just exercises alone.
For students 11 and under I use the FJH Young Beginner Guitar Methods Vol. 1 & 2 (with CD) (FJH Music Company INC)
12 and over: Everybody's Guitar Method book (FJH Music Company INC)
For classical students: Christopher Parkening's Guitar Methods Vol. 1 & 2 (Hal Leonard)

Drums
If you have a drumset, I will come to your home and teach you there. Having played with musical groups ranging from cabaret trios to big-band jazz and rock groups, I can teach you many styles and help you pursue your musical interests.
